Case Hardening and Carburising
Heat Treatment Australia offers case hardening and carburising
of alloy and mild steel components.
The company has four sealed quench furnaces of various sizes
to accommodate most engineering components whether it be a large
gears weighing 100 Kg or small rollers weighing less than one
Kg.
The components are protected from the out side atmosphere by
using a protective endothermic gas. This gas can also control
the level of carbon in the atmosphere allowing the carbon potential
to be changed in order to suit the material and the customer specification.
Carbursing temperatures ranging from 790 C to 960 C can be used
to achieve customer requirements. Our extensive stock of fixtures
and jigging ensures minimum distortion during treatment and maximum
hardness and case depth penetration.
The treatments we offer include carbonitriding , case hardening
and carburising to the following depths:
004” 0.1 mm
010” 0.25 mm
020” 0.5 mm
040” 1.0 mm
080” 2.0 mm
Other depths are available and guidance and information is always
available from our experience heat treatment professionals.
Our treatments are fully computer controlled to ensure repeatability
and process conformity each and every time. Our furnace parameters
are controlled by the latest carbon diffusion software to ensure
case depth conformity which utilizes data from ox probes located
with in the furnace and the endothermic gas generator.
Our procedures and work instructions are fully documented under
our 9001:2000 quality management systems.
